October 26 and 27 a crew came out to clean up after the shotcrete and get all of the yard around the pool level. Then on October 29 a contractor came out to put up forms for the deck concrete. The tile contractors also came out and started putting the tile around the perimeter of the pool. The tile guys used a laser level to draw a laser line all the way around the pool exactly 6 inches from the top of the concrete shell. Then they put the tile right above the line.

On November 1 the deck was poured. About 700 square feet worth! The color is a light brown/tan when it dries, and it has a salt finish. So for the final step, they sprinkle rock salt down and pound it into the concrete. Then smooth over top of that. So when water dissolves the salt, you're left with a textured concrete.
