Erica was born in May of 1978 in Dearborn, MI to Judy and Robert Pendergrass. She moved to Plymouth in 7th grade and graduated from Plymouth Canton High School in June 1996. She was on the swim team for 4 years, captin for 1 year, she spoke at her graduation, and she worked at the Mayflower Meetinghouse which is why we are having our reception there! She went on to The University of Michigan's College of Engineering to study aerospace engineering. She is president of SEDS (Students for the Exploration and Development of Space) and has done 2 projects with that group where she got to fly on NASA's KC135 "Vomit Comet" zero-gravity plane. She is also a memeber of AIAA (American Institute for Aeronautics and Astornautics) which is how we met.
Bryan was born in November of 1975 in Wayne, MI to Terry and Shelia Hampton. He went to Taylor Center high School and graduated Valadictorian in June 1994. He was in the Marching Band for 4 years, played soccer for 1, and made an attempt at swimming, although I'm not sure I'd call it swimming! He then went on to The University of Michigan's College of Engineering and earned his Bachelor's of Science in Aerospace Engineering, and a Master's of Engineering in Space Systems in May of 2000. He was a memeber of the Michigan Marching Band Drumline for 2 years, member of Sigma Gamma Tau (Aerospace Honor Society) for 5 years, Treasurer of AIAA (American Institute for Aeronautics and Astornautics) for 2 years, and worked for 5 years for CAEN (the Computer Aided Engineering Network).
We met in April 1998 at an AIAA meeting. We became friends over the summer, and I met her parents at a BBQ at her mom's house in Plymoth in August. They were a lot of fun. We became best friends during the Fall term that year, and became very close. Winter term 1999, she taught me how to ski, and we have done a lot of fun things together. We realized that we wanted to be more than friends in January, but weren't ready for anything to serious. Then on March 31, we decided to make it official and call it a relationship. We're talking boyfriend and girlfriend! Her family has really taken a liking to me in and I am now invited to her mom's for dinner more often than she is, but I bring her along! Just kidding. My family has also taken a liking to her! In fact my sister Sherry will be in the wedding!
